A non-profit organization that has a location in Jefferson is co-hosting a special event to help get bikes ready for youth for the year.
Midwest Mission Iowa Director Danille Curtis invites youth to bring their bicycles in for a Bike Tune-Up to be held from 9am-noon next Saturday, April 25th at the Midwest Mission location on 219 North Chestnut Street. In partnership with Jefferson Kiwanis Club and Rotary Club, Curtis says the free event will have volunteers to make minor repairs and safety checks ahead of the cycling season.
Curtis is also asking for community members to donate gently used bikes and bicycle parts that will support their organization’s microbusiness initiatives, where those items will be distributed to communities across the world with tools and training to generate sustainable income.
Next Saturday’s event is free and no registration is required as walk-ins are welcomed.
