The Perry Booster Club continues to raise funds for batting cages at the high school.
Tiffany Olejniczak, with the booster club, says the organization launched a capital campaign last month to replace the Perry High School softball and baseball batting cages. She details that the new cages will be cement with a turf overlay and will include black cage metal frames and outdoor nets.
Olejniczak adds that the new cages will help resolve safety concerns and will provide space when field conditions are not ideal.
She explains that the campaign got a jumpstart thanks to a $10,000 donation from a Perry alumnus followed by a $15,000 Dallas County Foundation grant. The project was one of four to receive funds from the Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation. The Foundation will officially award the grants during a presentation at 5 p.m. today at the public library in Dallas Center. Keep watching for more photos from the grant presentation on the Raccoon Valley Radio Facebook page.
After bringing in an additional $5,000, the group received a $5,000 grant for the project through the Bock Family Foundation on Monday.
Those interested in donating to the capital campaign can mail checks to the Perry Booster Club or online through the group’s Square Site page. For more information, click here.
