Main Street Guthrie Center will be holding an event next week.
Executive Director Becky Peterson says that they will be working with Main Street Iowa to hold a community input session. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that an important piece of what will go on in the event is going over the results of a community survey they did earlier this year.
“The surveys reviewed everything from what business owners want to see with our downtown, what building owners want to see, and then also what the community and anybody who visits, shops, our local downtown, what they want to see regarding store hours, merchandise that’s offered, whether we have retail, non-retail businesses, what the look and feel, the environment of our downtown is. It kind of encompasses everything that people want to see in their downtown Guthrie Center.”
Peterson mentions they will first go over those survey results, then seek other advice and input from attendees to see what some strategies for the future should look like. She adds that this will help them discuss with Main Street Iowa, and show them what some focus points and goals for the future would be. The community input session is April 22nd at the Guthrie Center Activity Center from 5:30-7pm.
