The Greene County Sheriff’s Office has released new information regarding the homicide investigation in Grand Junction.

According to Sheriff Jack Williams, a 911 call was made about an assault that was taking place at 505 Main Street East in Grand Junction at 2:13pm on Sunday. Williams says the Sheriff’s Office, along with Grand Junction Rescue and Greene County Ambulance responded to the scene. He states that the victim was transported to Greene County Medical Center and was later taken by air ambulance to Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines and the victim later died from the injuries. 

Williams says the suspect was detained in Perry by the Perry Police Department and was later transported to the Greene County Sheriff’s Office. Williams adds that the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation is assisting with the ongoing investigation. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
