
The West Central Valley Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams competed in the Van Meter Coed Relays on Monday, as senior Aiden Brandon tallied third place in the Long Jump.
Brandon jumped a distance of 19 feet and nine inches, while freshman Caden Lane nabbed sixth going 19 feet and four inches. Also, freshman Drew Teague garnered seventh in the 110 Meter Hurdles at 19.01 seconds, and sophomore Mason Fortney went five feet and two inches in the high jump.
On the girls side, junior Willow Ray led the way to the top spot in the high jump going five feet and four inches, while freshman Kya Andrist captured eighth place at four feet and four inches. Other great performances for the Wildcats included sophomore Janae Dukes notching fifth in the shot put with a distance of 30 feet and 10.50 inches, then junior Ella Belden ran 29.10 seconds in the open 200 Meters for sixth place.
West Central Valley is sending Ray to the 116th Drake Relays in Des Moines to compete in the Girls High Jump, which is taking place Friday morning at 9:30am. The full results from the Van Meter Coed Relays can be found by clicking here.
