Mustangs girls’ golf had the varsity spring sports stage to themselves Monday with an invite in West Des Moines at the Willow Creek Golf Course.
DCG faced good competition in the afternoon and had a few golfers with a good day. The par score for the course was 73. Senior Joey Moberg led the golfers in red and white with a 10-over-par, good for a four-way tie for fourth place. Bettendorf’s Liliana Graham stood at the top of the podium with 76, just three strokes over par.
As a team, the Mustangs did sneak inside the top ten. They finished eighth as a team with 380 strokes. Norwalk won the day with 337 strokes, just one shot over Southeast Polk. DCG will be on the move again on Thursday afternoon when they head to Oskaloosa.
