The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Track and Field Teams had several representatives at the 2026 Drake Relays in Des Moines, as senior Elise Coghlan led the way with a third place finish in the Girls 100 Meter Hurdles.
Coghlan ran a time of 14.45 seconds, finishing behind Waukee’s Jana Maharry (14.28 seconds) and West Des Moines Valley’s Morgan Karr at 13.99 seconds. Also, the Tigers 4×400 Meter Relay Team of Coghlan, Claire Priestley, Vivian Novelli, and Brecken Morse qualified for the finals this afternoon. ADM senior Lauren Hagedorn threw 129 feet and three inches for 12th place in the Girls Discus Throw. The Tigers’ Girls 4×200 Meter Relay Team of Priestley, Novelli, Morse, and Isabelle Book notched eighth place at 1:42.76.
On the boys side, ADM sophomore Zane Johnson was 17th overall in the 100 Meter Dash running 10.91 seconds, followed by the Tigers’ 4×200 Meter Relay with Johnson, Parker Hook, Hudson Shull, and Jackson Pitzen that garnered eighth place. Then ADM’s 1600 Meter Medley Relay, which also featured Pitzen, as well as Ty Landphair, Brayden Davison, and Christian Paul nabbed 19th place in a time of 3:36.74, and is now fourth all-time in ADM’s school history.
The Tigers will participate in more track and field events today at Drake Stadium in Des Moines.
