West Central Valley junior Willow Ray is the only athlete who participated in the 2026 Drake Relays in Des Moines, as she secured a top-15 spot in the Girls High Jump event on Friday.

Ray captured 13th place overall going a height of five feet and three inches. The top three individuals for the event was North Polk’s Reese Wagner finishing in third place, followed by Mount Ayr’s Aubree Shields in second, and Clinton’s Elle Lonergan won first place with a height of five feet and eight inches. For the Wildcats, the high jump was the sole event for Ray.

The West Central Valley Girls Track and Field Team is gearing up for the Des Moines Christian Invitational on Monday, starting at 4:30pm.
