Saturday was the third and final day of the Drake Relays for the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs and the rest of the competing field.
To round out the weekend, Graham Ibeling hit the track for the second event that he made blue standard in, the 1600m. He finished in 16th with a time of 4:19.61. Next, the 4x800m team of Ibeling, Chase Heitland, Jack Meggison, Eli Oberreuter, and Cael Ramsey ran a sub-8-minute time that was a season best for the group and had them in 13th place. Another season best came from the 4x100m team of Heitland, Ethan Carlson, Ozzie Grimm, and Sam Keller who hustled their way to a 43.10.
There were some top performers on the day as well. The Shuttle Hurdle relay team, composed of Heitland, Christopher Opoku-Sekyere, Mason Strang, and Darien Walker finished 7th with a time of 58.46. The girls’ 4×100 team of Madden Seeman, Navaeh Mayfield, Khloe Crawford, and Sydnee Keller ran a time of 50.82. Tenley Heidgerken had a good 1500m time of 4;41.61. Leighton Stanford had high expectations for herself and delivered with a time of 65.34, which was good for 12th in the 400m hurdles.
Congratulations to all the Mustangs who competed at the Drake Relays this weekend.
