Iowa high school track and field teams now know where they have been assigned for Thursday, May 14 State Qualifying Meets. Greene County has been assigned to a Class 2A coed meet in Story City while Paton-Churdan will travel to Audubon for a 1A meet.

The Rams will join host Roland-Story, Clarion-Goldfield-Dows, Grundy Center, Eagle Grove, Iowa Falls-Alden, Ogden, South Hamilton (Jewell), South Hardin (Eldora), Van Meter, West Marshall (State Center), and Woodward-Granger. There are eight 2A State Qualifying Meets with first and second place finishers in each event automatically qualifying for the May 21-22-23 State Meet. The field of 24 will be filled by those with the eight best performances statewide that did not finish first or second.

At Audubon, the host teams will be joined by the Rockets, ACGC (Guthrie Center), Ar-We-Va (Westside), Boyer Valley (Dunlap), CAM (Anita), Coon Rapids-Bayard, Exira/Elk Horn-Kimballton, Glidden-Ralston, IKM-Manning, Logan-Magnolia, Newell-Fonda, Storm Lake St. Mary’s, and West Bend-Mallard. There are 12 1A State Qualifying Meets with the first place finisher in each event the only automatic qualifiers. The field of 24 will be field by the 12 best performances statewide that did not finish first.
