One local company in Jefferson is storming forward in a contest and are still needing people to vote.
American Athletic Incorporated/Spalding has made it into the round of Top 8 products in the Coolest Thing Made in Iowa Contest with the Iowa Association of Business and Industry. According to the IABI, AAI/Spalding’s product, the Spalding Arena Renegade Basketball Hoop, is matched up with Pella Corporation’s Steady Set Interior Installation System.
AAI/Spalding says these basketball hoops are the official backstop of the NCAA and professional basketball leagues, including the NBA and WNBA. The business points out that these hoops were featured during the recently held Final Four of the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament.
Pella’s Steady Set is the industry’s first single-person window installer from inside the home. The company states that this process eliminates the need for a ladder to install the windows and the components are pre-attached.
Voting for the Top 8 ends tomorrow where anyone can cast one vote per device until midnight. Voting will remain for the subsequent rounds until the winner is announced on June 3rd at the IABI Taking Care of Business Conference in Des Moines. The winner’s product will then be on display at the National Mall in Washington, DC for the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
