Two students from Greene County and Paton-Churdan High Schools were recently recognized for their academic excellence.

The Governor’s Scholar Award was presented this past Sunday to Greene County senior Becca Anderson and Paton-Churdan senior Mia Russell. The award is given to the top performing senior for their high academic achievements.

Greene County High School Principal Karen Shannon says Anderson has a 4.0 grade point average (GPA) and she is part of 96 students in her senior class. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that Anderson is involved in cross country, basketball, track, volleyball, softball, Student Council, National Honor Society, speech and drama with the musicals.
