Sign up for a workshop that is open to 4-H and FFA members in Adair County is ongoing.
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that they are partnering with Cass County ISU Extension and Outreach for a livestock workshop on June 6th. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they will have two breakout sessions during the workshop, and what they will cover.
“So we’re gonna have beef, goat, sheep, swine, rabbit, and poultry. The youth will get to select two of those species to learn more about. We’ll discuss general livestock care, grooming, showmanship. It is open to all youth fourth through 12th grade.”
Savage mentions that the workshop will be from 9-11am at the Cass County Fairgrounds, and that registration closes on June 1st. She adds that there will also be a Youth for the Quality Care of Animals course following the livestock workshop.
