Guthrie Center was the site of Thursday’s Parrish-Goznales Coed Track & Field Meet hosted by ACGC. Greene County and Paton-Churdan had their girls and boys included with the Rams finishing second in both team races. The Rockets were fourth in the boys’ team race and sixth among the girls’ teams.

Greene County boys had six first place finishes. Senior Drew Wolterman won the 400 meter dash at 51 seconds flat, which lowers his Greene County record, and he’s within striking distance of the program record of 50.72 seconds by Brent Mac Lagan in 1995. Junior Zack Stalder won the 100 meters in :11.64, and senior Rafe Michaelsen threw the discus 132′ 10″ to win that event. There were three relays victories for the boys as well. They won the 800 sprint medley in 1:37,.51 with juniors Jaron Jacobs, Lincoln Schwander, Stalder, and Wolterman, the 4 x 100 in :44.71 with Jacobs, Schwander, senior Aden Bardole, and Stalder, and the 4 x 200 in 1:34.56 with Jacobs, Schwander, Bradole and Stalder.

The girls from Greene County won seven events including an all-time program record in the 800 meter run by senior Kaycee Pittman. She won the event in 2:21.19 topping the mark set by Jefferson-Scranton’s Omega Wise in 2003 of 2:21.53. Wise finished third in the State Meet with her effort. Senior Becca Anderson won the 100 in 13.10 seconds and the 200 in :26.41. Sophomore Rylee Mowrer was a double winner in the two longest races, taking first in the 3,000 in 12:35.78 and the 1500 with a time of 5:47.99. The 4 x 400 with sophomore Hanna Fouch and seniors Pittman, Addison Gannon, and Anderson,  won in 4:14.35, and the 4 x 200 in 1:51.35 with with Gannon, Fouch, junior Sara Morlan, and Anderson placed first.

The Rockets got into the win column with a trio of victories by junior Trevon Keely. He won the high jump at 6′ 3″, the long jump with a leap of 20′ 7-1/2″, and the 200 meter dash in :22.87.

IKM-Manning won the girls’ team title with 171.5 points, followed by the Rams at 140.5, 122 from ACGC, 85 from Coon Rapids-Bayard, 73 b y Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton, 28 from the Rockets, and 25 points from Audubon.

ACGC won the boys’ title with 155 points to 141 for the Rams. IKM-Manning scored 139.5 with 91.5 by P-C, 74 from Audubon, 30 by EEHK, and CR-B had nine points.
