Two people from Fort Dodge were recently arrested for an alleged burglary incident in Greene County.

According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy drove by a home in the 500 block of N Avenue just after 5am Tuesday, due to a few calls about suspicious activity. Court documents show that the deputy saw a flashlight coming from inside the home. The criminal complaint states that a short time later, the homeowner arrived in the driveway and said no one was supposed to be on the property or inside the home.

Court documents report that after backup arrived on scene from the Sheriff’s Office, two suspects were found on the roof of the home. Court documents state that the two individuals came down and were apprehended without incident. The affidavit shows that when the two suspects were searched, burglary-related items were found on each person.

Following the incident, 48-year-olds Monica Volquartsen and Robert Olson were arrested and charged with a Class D Felony for third degree burglary, an aggravated misdemeanor for possession of burglary’s tools and a simple misdemeanor for their first offense for trespassing. They are booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
