The Iowa High School Musical Awards announced recipients for the 2025-26 season, and one local school received several awards.

Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center was one of 117 schools that participated, with six other schools also performing “The Addams Family.” Awards received by the group as a whole include Outstanding Overall Performance and Special Recognition for Ensemble. Awards received by students include Outstanding Performance in a Principal Role for Natalie Dinkla as Morticia Addams, Carter Dinkla as Uncle Fester, Allison Drak as Alice Beineke, Rohnin Grasty as Gomez Addams and Cadence Petersen as Wednesday Addams, along with Special Recognition in a Principal Role for Ilana Baumert as Pugsley Addams and Caydence Boals as Grandma.

According to Musical Director Kelsey Dinkla, several students will have the opportunity to perform in the Opening Medley of the Awards Showcase, which takes place May 28th, starting at 7pm. This event will be live streamed on the Iowa PBS website and broadcasted at a later date. Dinkla mentions that tickets for the event go on sale May 15th at 10am, and can be purchased through the Des Moines Performing Arts organization online or by phone at 515-246-2300.
