A West Des Moines man has been found guilty by a jury from a robbery incident that happened in Stuart.
According to court documents, after a three day trial, 33-year-old Kevin Krouse, Jr. was found guilty on Wednesday of a Class C Felony for second degree robbery.
The charge stemmed from an incident on February 4th at the Subway restaurant in Stuart. Court documents show that Krouse entered the restaurant and demanded money from an employee, before Krouse left the scene. Court documents show that the Stuart Police Department responded within minutes, where a vehicle description was given and a short time later, the vehicle was found along Interstate-80 in rural Dallas County.
Court documents state that law enforcement surrounded the vehicle to conduct a probable cause search and recovered items that corroborated that a robbery had taken place.
The Stuart Police Department says sentencing for Krouse will be done at a later date. The department thanks all of the other law enforcement entities that assisted with the case. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
