Greene County High School was selected for several recognitions with the Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards.

Vocal Director David Heupel says the spring production of “Anastasia, the Musical” captured one of only 11 shows across the state to receive an award for Outstanding Overall Technical and Creative Achievement. 

Additionally, Heupel notes that Lucy Vander Linden, who played Anastasia, Carter Petterson for his role as Dmitry and Sophia Price as the Dowager Empress all earned an Outstanding Performer in a Principal Role and William Graham received a Special Recognition in a Principal Role for his character, Vlad. 

Heupel points out that Vander Linden and Petterson have also been chosen to perform as a duet for the showcase at the Des Moines Civic Center, and those two will be joined by Price, Ebyn Carstens and Jadyn Weber to perform in the Opening Medley of the showcase on May 28th.
