A Scranton woman was recently arrested following an alleged incident on Monday.
According to court documents, a Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a call of a dispute in the 700 block of Madison Street, around 6:23pm on Monday. Court documents state that witnesses claim there was an argument between 59-year-old Julie Simms and another individual, and that Simms allegedly swung a stick at the other person.
Court documents show that the other person then swung an object at Simms and that Simms was also making loud and raucous sounds in the area. The criminal complaint states that Simms was arrested for a simple misdemeanor for disorderly conduct and after she was transported to the Greene County Jail, she admitted to having a glass smoking pipe and marijuana on her person.
Simms was additionally charged with two Class D Felonies for her third or subsequent offense for possession of a controlled substance violation and possession of contraband in a correctional institution, along with a simple misdemeanor for possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Greene County Jail. Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
