Jacobo Cerna-Gomez continues to impress out on the pitch as the senior has notched in a total of 70 goals throughout his four year career with the Bluejays. Cerna-Gomez continues to look for more success, with only one regular season game left this season scheduled for Friday, as Perry plays host to the Clarke Community Indians. The action is set to begin at 7pm.

Since his freshmen campaign, Cerna-Gomez made an impact for the Bluejays, scoring 12 goals in his rookie season. Since 2023, Cerna-Gomez has been the top scorer or second highest scorer on the Bluejays, with an impressive 51 goals scored combined between his sophomore and junior campaign. With 70 goals so far thoughout his career, Cerna-Gomez continues to be a team player, with 37 career assists holding the current record for Perry.

Head coach Abraham Cardenas reflected on Cerna-Gomez’s selflessness,

“The great thing about Jacobo is, what he is willing to do. He’s willing to come down and help the defense and help the midfielders out. We’ve been working around that because obviously he knows that’s not going to get you a goal but the end of the day this is a team sport.”

The Bluejays wrap up the week on Friday, playing host to the Clarke Community Indians.
