Raccoon Valley Radio recently announced its scholarship winners.
Two graduating high school seniors each received $500 scholarships, which went to Lila Osterson of Greene County High School and Landry Kaysen from Winterset High School.
Osterson is from Paton and is planning to attend Hawkeye Community College for marketing management. According to her application, Osterson has worked at More Time Consignment, where she gained knowledge of operating a Point of Sale (POS) system, independent working environment and interaction with customers. She is involved in volleyball, cheerleading, track, golf and National Honor Society. Osterson was among the recipients that totaled $240,000 that was given away Wednesday night.
Kaysen is from Saint Charles and is planning to attend the University of Missouri-Columbia for journalism. According to his application, Kaysen works two different jobs and is interested in going into the field of investigative journalism.
Raccoon Valley Radio offers two Business and Broadcasting scholarships that are awarded each year to graduating high school seniors in the area. Both scholarships were awarded at each of the students’ senior awards night on Wednesday.
