The Panorama Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams participated in the Iowa High School Class 2A State Qualifying Meet in Treynor on Thursday, as three individuals automatically advanced to the state meet in Des Moines.
For the Panthers, junior Kylie Rochholz will be heading to state in the Girls 1500 Meter and 3000 Meter Run, while junior Reed Draper is going to be competing in the Boys Long Jump, and senior Syler Shaffer qualified in the Boys 400 Meter Hurdles.
Panorama had other great performances by sophomore Emma Walker, who captured fifth place in the Girls Shot Put and sixth place in the Girls Discus Throw, junior Laicey Lutz grabbed sixth in the Girls 1500 Meters, and freshman Olivia Beaudet notched eighth place in the Girls 400 Meter Hurdles.
Also, Panther senior Cristian Monrroy-Nunez tallied fourth in the Boys Shot Put and was sixth in the Discus Throw, followed by sophomore Corbin Deardorff garnering fifth place in the Boys 400 Meters, then it was sophomore Braden Bahrenfuss finishing eighth in the Boys 100 Meter Dash, and sophomore Bladyn Wearmouth nabbing eighth place in the Boys 800 Meters.
Besides Rochholz, Draper, and Shaffer, more Panorama athletes and relay teams could make it to the state meet if they were apart of the next eight places in each event. We’ll find out those names in the coming days. The 2026 Iowa High School State Track and Field Meet will be held at Drake Stadium in Des Moines May 21st-23rd.
