The Panorama Girls Golf Team participated in the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 1A Region 3 First Round competition in Jewell on Friday, as they’ll be moving on to the second round this next week.

The Panthers placed third as a team with 433 strokes, as South Hamilton was second at 403, and BCLUW led the way in first with 381 strokes. Individually, Panorama freshman Anabel Pudenz garnered second place with 92 strokes, behind BCLUW’s Gracie Andrews with 91. Also for the Panthers, freshman Alyssa Stanley nabbed 112, sophomore Calista Knudsen followed with 114, senior Miranda Laabs tallied 115 strokes, freshman Avery Ambrose marked 118, and junior Maci Bauer concluded with 125 strokes.

According to the IGHSAU, if the host school finishes in first or second place as a team on their home course, then the third place team advances to the second round. Since South Hamilton was the host school and played on their home course in Jewell, Panorama will move on to the next round, happening this Wednesday at the Prairie Knolls Country Club in New Sharon at 10am.
