The West Central Valley Girls and Boys Soccer Teams played their 14th game on Friday in State Center against Central Iowa United, as the Wildcat Girls won 5-0 to tally nine victories on the season, while the Boys came out on top 8-0 for their 12th win.

During the girls contest, much of the first half was scoreless, until Wildcat senior Braylie Harding scored the first goal of the game with three minutes remaining as West Central Valley took a 1-0 lead into the break. The Wildcats captured four goals in the second half by different players, including sophomore Zoey Reicks, junior Addilynn Richter, then seniors Meleah Speichinger and Abby Johnson, with West Central Valley shutting out the Trojans 5-0. Defensively, West Central Valley goalies Meredith Arganbright and Jamie Fronapfel had one save each.

With the win, the Wildcats improve to 9-4-1 and Central Iowa United falls to 1-9-1 on the year.

On the boys side, West Central Valley scored three of their eight goals in the first half to take a 3-0 advantage into the break. The Wildcats would erupt for five goals in the second half to coast to a 8-0 victory.

West Central Valley was led in scoring by senior Trajan Rummel with two, followed by seniors Aiden Clauson, Aiden Brandon, David Pruitt, Gabe Gerling, Roman Hammond, and Wyatt McKibbin all tallying one goal individually.

The Wildcat Boys are now 12-1-1 on the year, while the Trojans drop to 2-13-1 overall.

Central Iowa United will participate in the Boone Soccer Invitational today, and West Central Valley Girls will gear up for the Class 1A Region 6 Quarterfinal game versus Van Meter on May 28th, as the boys will host Perry in Stuart this coming Friday, May 22nd.
