Two local businesses in Jefferson recently received mini-grants to help with expansion of their services.

Jefferson Matters Director Matt Wetrich says one of those recipients is Greene Goods Market and Greenhouses that helped with the purchase of a woodfire pizza grill and on several Sundays, people can go there and enjoy a unique experience.

“Where you’re going to be able to go out and order these pizzas, ‘Dine among the ingredients.’ They’ve got raised beds, they’re going to have all of the herbs, the tomatoes (and) they’ve been perfecting their dough and their homemade tomato sauce. So, they’re going to create this dining experience, out there to the west side of the greenhouse.”

Wetrich explains the other recipient of the Business Growth Grant is at Vive Family Chiropractic that is now offering Pulse Wave (Shockwave) Therapy. He describes the new service liking it to an ultrasound wand that makes clicking sounds to deliver treatments.

“What it does it shoots soundwaves into your troubled area, whether it’s like plantar fasciitis, or carpal tunnel or some other bound up area or scar tissue area. And it helps to kind of break all that up and freeing up joints and troubled spots.”

According to Vive Family Chiropractic, this is a non-invasive, evidence-informed modality that is helping to support tissue healing, reducing pain and improving function for patients that have musculoskeletal conditions.

Wetrich adds that each business received $5,000 to expand their services, with financial support coming from Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, Home State Bank, Heartland Bank, Peoples Bank and Jefferson Telecom.
