A Democrat running for Iowa House District 47 will be in Jefferson later today.

According to the Greene County Democratic Party, Charley Newman, who resides in Guthrie Center, will be at the Milwaukee Depot in Jefferson today at 4pm for a meet and greet. The Democratic candidate grew up on a farmstead near Ralston and graduated from Glidden-Ralston and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Des Moines Area Community College. He now works at Casey’s and is a UPS driver.

According to the Greene County Democratic Party, Newman will be available to meet with attendees and answer questions. 

Newman is running against Chris New for the Democratic nomination for Iowa House District 47 in the June 2nd Primary Election. Iowa House District 47 includes Greene and Guthrie Counties, along with the northwestern portion of Dallas County.
