After winning six of its first eight games the Greene County High School softball team has dropped three games in a row and faces third rated and defending Class 3A State Champion Solon tonight at the City Diamond on East Lincolnway. The Rams are 6-5 overall and 3-4 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference after losing 6-3 to Saydel (Des Moines) in Jefferson on Wednesday night. Saydel improved to 8-2 overall and 4-1 in the HOIAC.

Hannah Promes went all seven innings and took the loss while Kayla Polke went the distance for the win for Saydel. The Eagles had 10 hits to five for Greene County. Just two Rams accounted for the hits as Samantha Hardaway doubled twice and singled once, and Megan Carey tripled and singled.  Promes had a run batted in on a Sacrifice fly. The other two runs scored on Saydel errors. The Eagles were charged with three errors and the Rams with four.
