The Greene County Rams will be trying to stop a six-game baseball losing streak when they host South Hamilton (Jewell) at Allensworth Field in Jefferson tonight. The Rams are 3-12 overall and 1-8 in Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play while the Hawks are having their best season in some time at 4-7 overall and 3-6 in the league. Coach Mark Sawhill will likely send freshman Austin Delp to the mound. He’s 1-1 on the varsity level with a pair of complete games. The Rams will try to amp up the offense after totaling just five hits in two games Saturday at the Perry Tournament. Greene County lost both times, dropping a 13-3 10-run rule decision in six innings to the host Blue Jays, then falling in the third place game to Sergeant Bluff-Luton.
