The Greene County Historical Society is planning a trip to Boone for a special program later this week.

On Thursday, participants will head to the James H. Andrew Railroad Museum & History Center, adjacent to the Boone and Scenic Valley Railroad. The museum was founded and funded by Jefferson resident Jim H. Andrew.  Before he died in 2014, his railroad collection has been at the $1.5 million museum since September of 2012.

A program will be led by his son Jim O. Andrew and wife Jacque. Following the program, attendees will be led through the museum.

A bus will leave the museum in Jefferson at 1pm and return around 4:30pm. Cost to attend is $10, which includes bus fare and admission to the museum. Space is limited and so for historical society members, contact your community representative and non-members can call Program Director Ces Brunow at 515-370-5531.
