dc conservationThe Dallas County Conservation Board invites everyone to join them in starting their Friday mornings off with a nice little hike this summer.

The Friday Morning Bird Hikes began last week and continue through the month.

Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says they’re excited to be able to offer this type of programing again.

“We’re really excited about those.  Our newest naturalist, who has been with for about a year, Mike Havlik is a bird specialist.  We are delighted because after Bob Meyers moved away and Tom Lawson passed away, our main volunteer that was really focused on the birds, we had not really done much on birds until Mike came along.  So now we’re able to do a lot more and, as you know, birds are very popular.”

Each hike takes place from 7:30 until 9am.  This Friday’s takes off from the Adel bike trail east of Subway, next week’s will leave the Voas Nature Area and July 29th takes place at the Kuehn Conservation Area.

Registration is required.  To reserve your spot call 465-3577.
