A deputy assisted a jail officer with transporting an inmate to the Greene County Medical Center Emergency Room for medical assistance and medication.
A deputy assisted Grand Junction Rescue with a medical call at the Casey’s General Store in Grand Junction.
Three members of the Greene County Sheriff’s office responded for a welfare check and a reported assault at a residence in the 500 block of N Avenue. The two females residing at the residence were found to be safe at that time. A deputy eventually convinced the elder female to seek medical attention. The Department of Human Services was advised of the situation.
A deputy and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to a ditch fire at the intersection of Highway 4 and 330 h Street.
A deputy was dispatched to the Paton Presbyterian Church to investigate criminal mischief and vandalism to the carpet and other contents within the church. The deputy did determine the juveniles that were involved with the vandalism.
The Sheriff’s office and the Churdan Fire and Rescue were dispatched to the 100 block of I Avenue (Highway 4) for a single vehicle rollover accident. Jenny Lynne Harrison 31, of Jefferson, was southbound on I Avenue when she lost control of her 2007 Ford Five Hundred. The car entered the west ditch, coming to rest on its top in a farm field. Jenny Harrison was transported the Greene County Medical Center by Churdan Rescue for further evaluation with what was believed to be minor injuries. Harrison reported that at the time of the accident she was not wearing her seat belt. The side air bags did deploy and the vehicle was estimated to be a total loss.
A deputy assisted a Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer with towing a vehicle from McMahon Access after the DNR officer issued several citations to Trinity Glen Welch 27, of Jefferson, for Driving While Barred and Providing False Information.
A deputy was asked to assist with a personal property civil issue in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction.
A deputy was dispatched to the 500 block of 12th Street South in Grand Junction for a reported domestic altercation. After an investigation the deputy subsequently arrested Christin Charles Smith 32, of Grand Junction for Domestic Abuse Assault – 2nd Offense.
A deputy was advised of a tree blocking the roadway on 290th Street just west of Rippey gymnasium. The Rippey mayor removed the tree from the roadway.
Tuesday, July 12th
A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle on Highway 4 and 310th Street.
A deputy was asked to check a residence in the 800 block of Chicago Street in Scranton after Greene County Dispatchers received an abandoned e-911 call that mapped to that location. The deputy found everything to be in order.
A deputy was advised of an erratic and careless driver on Highway 30 near Jefferson. The deputy initiated a traffic stop on that vehicle and evaluated the driver.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
