hunter safetyAnyone who wants to hunt for the upcoming season in Iowa must take a hunter safety education course.

Greene County Conservation is sponsoring a free program later this month. Director Dan Towers says it will take place August 16th, 18th and 20th. It is split up into two sections, classroom time and live target practice shooting. Towers adds that once you take the course, it is valid in all 50 states and it never expires. Anyone born after 1972 is eligible to take the class.

It will be held at the Jefferson Depot on August 16th and 18th from 6:30 to 9pm and August 20th is at Slininger Woods from 8am to 4pm.
