A season ago when Greene County head volleyball coach Donna Carhill looked at her roster, Nadia Fisher was the lone player to have even been on the floor for a varsity match. This year Fisher headlines a group of five returning letter winners for the veteran coach. Fisher was second team all Heart of Iowa Activities Conference as a junior while Hannah Promes and Megan Durbin were both on the all-conference honorable mention list. Kenna Marquardt is a returning team Captain and Hannah Stein also returns as a letter winner.

The coach was asked to look ahead and if she’s happy at the end of the season, what will have taken place. “If we get to the end of the season like I plan, like I have my goals at, we’ll be in the top three in the conference, we will have won at least one tournament, and be considered for a fairly high seed in our regional.”

Greene County was 11-17 last season and opens the 2016 campaign on Tuesday, Aug. 30 in Des Moines vs. Saydel and Gilbert.
