As the temperatures start to cool down, taking a dip in a warm pool of water starts to sound quite appealing but is the water in your hot tub or spa safe?
Dallas County Environmental Health Director Ted Trewin says water should be replaced more often than many people realize.
“About every two weeks you should be cleaning it, draining it, making sure that your spa is good and disinfected. Then you’re putting clean, fresh water into it and making sure that your chlorine is up, your pH level is where it should be and so that way you’re not carrying on with the bacteria and spreading it, or having anyone come over and getting sick potentially.”
Trewin will share more spa safety tips and reminders with us on today’s Perry Fareway Let’s Talk Dallas County.
