September is off to a relatively dry start for the northern portion of the Raccoon River Valley.

According to the National Weather Service, Perry has received just 0.02 inch of rain so far this month, while 0.65 inch has fallen over Guthrie Center.

Normal monthly rainfall totals for the first week of September are around 0.8 inches.

Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through tonight.
