A former Jefferson resident was recently sentenced in Greene County District Court for a June incident.
According to court documents, 34 year-old Freedom Hope Ore of Hutchinson, Kansas pled guilty to an amended serious misdemeanor charge for assault. She had her 60-day prison sentence suspended and was placed on informal probation with the Greene County Sheriff’s office for one year. She was also ordered to pay over $500 in court costs, surcharges, court appointed attorney fees and victim restitution.
The charge stems from an incident on Monday, June 20th. A vehicle pulled into a driveway of a residence in the 400 block of North Vine Street in Jefferson. A verbal argument escalated into a physical altercation between Ore and 44 year-old George Joseph Glasgow also of Hutchinson, Kansas.
She was originally charged with an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse assault and display or use of a dangerous weapon for allegedly pulling a knife out during the incident. Court documents show that Ore’s charge was changed to a serious misdemeanor.
We’ve previously reported that Glasgow was sentenced in July to two years of probation after pleading guilty to an aggravated misdemeanor for domestic abuse in the incident.
