Roland-Story downed Greene County in straight sets on Tuesday night in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference volleyball match in Story City. Scores were 18-25, 21-25, 16-25. The Rams fell to 2-5 in conference play and 9-20 overall, while the Norsemen improved to 4-4 in HOIAC action and 12-17 on the season.

Coach Donna Carhill said the Rams deserve credit for never giving up. “R-S was tenacious on defense and had a couple of offensive players that gave us some trouble. We pressed them multiple times in each game, but just came up short this evening.”

Nadia Fisher had 16 digs, eight kills, and was 10 for 11 serving with an ace. Hannah Promes was seven for seven with two service aces, and Hannah Stein went 15 for 15 at the service line. Megan Durbin led the Rams in kills with 16, and Kenna Marquardt contributed 16 digs.

Greene County is set to end a stretch of 35 days and eight straight competition dates without a match at home by hosting North Polk (Alleman) tomorrow night in the middle school gym in Jefferson.
