Greene County sends its cross-country teams to Saydel High School on the northeast side of Des Moines today, while the Rams will be home tonight in Jefferson at the middle school gym for volleyball vs. North Polk (Alleman).

The trip to Saydel is the second one in four days for the harriers as they competed there on Monday at the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference meet. Senior Olivia Hansen came away with all-conference honors three days ago after finishing the five kilometers (3.1 miles) in eleventh place. Today’s meet is the Saydel Invitational for middle school and high school girls and boys. In addition to the host Eagles and Rams, schools include Perry, Bondurant-Farrar, Ballard (Huxley), Carlisle, Newton, North Polk, Pella Christian, and Ankeny Christian Academy.

The Rams haven’t been home for volleyball since Sept. 8 and tonight’s match is just the second at home all year for Greene County. The Comets are among the leaders in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference while the Rams are 2-5 in league play and 9-20 overall.
