Projects have been completed and now the long road of paperwork begins for Guthrie County Conservation following the June 2015 floods.
Conservation Director Joe Hanner says they installed rip rap at Nation Bridge Park and along the Raccoon River Valley Trail, near the Guthrie and Greene County line. Plus, they have to repair some slauf to the creeks and rivers in the county. Last year, the campground at Nation Bridge Park were closed for an extended period of time due to flooding, it also caused several roads to be shut down temporarily in the county.
Hanner points out that they are working with the Iowa Department of Homeland Security on payment from the contractors who did the work on the improvement projects and repairs, which could be a long process.
