WCV (1)West Central Valley High School students are in their final preparations for their fall play later this week.

Drama teacher Nancy Bauch says the drama department is putting on “A Night of Theatre Four: Five Comic Skits” this weekend.

The performances include a series of five skits involving a cast totalling 19 students. The opening act is called “Bank Withdrawal Symptoms” written by Jim Gustafson. It is about a bank robbery gone wrong in a funny way. The next performance is about a director with little time to put together a sequel to a bad horror movie called “I Know What You Did And I’m Gonna Hurt You Real Bad, Part 2” that is written by Burton Bumgarner. The third skit is written by Matthew Thompson called “Don’t Play Games with Me”. It is a group of people recovering from their Pictionary, Monopoly and Scrabble addictions. The fourth act is called “Death By Public Speaking” which is an infomercial talking about recovering public speaking addicts and it is written by Linda Cooke. Bauch wrote the final skit called “Life Is An Improv, So Deal With It”. It is about a group of students preparing for a group improvisation competition.

Bauch points out that the student have been rehearsing since Labor Day.

The performance dates are this Friday and Saturday at 7pm in the high school gym. Tickets are $5 per person and will be available at the door each night.
