Wednesday, October 26th

A deputy checked an abandoned vehicle in the 1500 block of 120th Street.

A deputy provided traffic control while a small grain bin was moved through Scranton.

Greene County dispatchers were able to locate the owner of a beef calf that was reported to be on the roadway in the 1500 block of U Avenue.

A deputy was dispatched to the Greene County Medical Center ER to assist with an unruly and agitated male patient.

Thursday, October 27th

A deputy assisted an Iowa State Trooper with a single vehicle accident south of Rippey on W Avenue, near 320th Street. The driver of the vehicle was Jennifer Nicole Debord 28, of Dawson. Debord was transported to the Dallas County Hospital by Greene County Emergency Medical Services with unknown injuries.

Friday, October 28th

A deputy was dispatched to the 900 block of Grant Street in Scranton to investigate a vehicle parked on private property without the landowner’s permission.

A deputy was dispatched for a suspicious male subject walking on Highway 141 near 240th Street. The male was identified and allowed to continue walking off the roadway.

A deputy was advised of a combine on fire in the 1100 block of 244th Street. The combine which was owned by Jon Morlan of rural Jefferson, was estimated to be a total loss.

A deputy spoke with a Churdan resident about a child custody civil issue.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1000 block of Grant Street in Scranton for a child custody issue.

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of South 9 th Street in Grand Junction to help remove two male subjects that were no longer welcome at the residence.

A deputy was dispatched for a minor car-deer accident that occurred on U Avenue near 190th Street. No accident report was needed and the vehicle was driven from the scene.

Saturday, October 29th

A deputy was unable to locate debris that was reported to be partially blocking the roadway on H Avenue and 160th Street.

A deputy was advised that he could disregard an automated alarm at the Lake Side Golf Course. The key holder advised that the building site was secure.

A deputy and Grand Junction Fire and Rescue were dispatched for a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of T Avenue and 250 th Street. A 2003 Chevrolet Impala LS that was being driven by Bryce Eugene Hoyle 16, of rural Grand Junction, was southbound on T Avenue when a westbound 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 that was being driven by Jon Wade Leonard 52, of Carroll, struck the Hoyle vehicle in the intersection. Bryce Hoyle was able to exit his Impala after it ended up in the south west ditch of the intersection, catching fire. Hoyle only sustained a minor knee injury. Jon Leonard was not injured but his Chevrolet pickup pulling a 2008 H and H Trailer sustained major damage. Leonard was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to the Right.

A deputy was dispatched to the Sparky’s One Stop in Rippey for a reported suspicious vehicle. The owner of the gold Buick was determined.

Sunday, October 30th

A deputy and a Jefferson Police Officer were unable to locate a possible intoxicated driver that was reported to be leaving the casino and traveling northbound on Highway 4.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle being driven in an erratic manner on N Avenue and 190th Street. After an investigation the deputy subsequently arrested Brianna Taylor Wirtz 21, of West Des Moines, for OWI – 1 St Offense.

A deputy gave two juvenile male subjects a ride from Scranton to their residence in Jefferson.

A deputy spoke with a resident in the 1800 block of 170th Street about a child custody civil issue.

A deputy and the Scranton Fire Department were dispatched to a garage fire in the 1000 block of Grant Street in Scranton.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1100 block of Orchard Avenue for a trespassing concern.

A deputy and a Jefferson Police Officer responded for the report of a suspicious vehicle in the ditch, with the driver and a passenger of that vehicle harassing and fighting with a resident in the 1800 block of T Avenue. The subjects had fled the scene before the deputy’s arrival. The driver and passenger were later located at a residence in Rippey.

A deputy and the Churdan Fire Department were dispatched for a minor electrical house fire in the 300 block of Hill Street in Churdan.

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of Sand Street in Churdan for a backing accident at the fire station.

A deputy spoke with a Dana resident about a harassment concern.

A deputy removed a deer carcass from the roadway on Highway 30 near J Avenue.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
