The City of Perry is asking residents to stay off the soon to be soccer fields this fall so that they can be enjoyed next year.
The third pay request for the Pattee Park expansion project was approved by the City Council Monday and City Administrator Sven Peterson says the project is mostly done and Spring Lake Construction is currently working on punch list items.
“The grass is pretty much established. We’ll be going back in the spring and doing some more work on that, or the contractor will. So it’s really looking great out there we are just asking everybody to stay off the grass because we want to make sure it gets well established. We’ll be doing some over seeding in the spring, so we’ll just have to keep being patient and waiting that out.”
Once completed the park will include two adult soccer fields, a junior varsity field and several small youth fields.
