The annual awards night banquet for West Central Valley volleyball successfully commenced this past Monday.
West Central Valley recognized and honored the Lady Wildcat volleyball team who went 3-18 and 1-7 inside a tough West Central Activities Conference which included class 2A’s 9th ranked Woodward Granger high school.
The awards portion of the night started out with the team awards and the first award off the bat was the Most Spirited Award which went to sophomore Joelle Grubbs. The Ace Award was appropriately awarded to West Central Valley’s ace leader in Jennifer Dudley based on her team best 26 aces on the season. The Heart & Hustle award went to senior Kristin Culp as part of one of three award for her on the night. Culp also took home the Defensive Player Of The Year award and MVP award for the season in which she accumulated a team best 54 kills and 6 digs which was accompanied by 9 blocks.
Bailey McLaughlin took the award for Most Energy while the Most Consistent Server award landed in the hands of Abby Speichinger who led the team in serving efficiency with an efficiency rating of .957 while also being the teams facilitating leader with 337 assists. Sadie McFarland earned top blocker with 18 blocks on the year and the Comeback Kid Award was awarded to Erika Beitz.
The Leadership Award was divided up into three senior individuals Kristin Culp, Sadie McFarland, and Jennifer Dudley. The Libero award found its way into the hands of Taylor Beane who accumulated 20 successful serves and three aces. The Most Improved Award was earned by Bethany Smith who ended the year with 12 kills, 78 successful serves, 8 aces.
There were three Lady Wildcats who punched their ticket onto the all conference stage in the form of honorable mention nominees Kristin Culp, Sadie McFarland, and Jennifer Dudley.
In total the Lady Wildcats had 13 letter winners which broke down into five seniors, four juniors, and four sophomores. The sophomore Madison Waddell, Haley Nizzi, Joelle Grubbs, and Abby Speichinger. The junior letter winner list was comprised of Erin Franklin, Bailey McLaughlin, Grace Dupuy, and Taylor Beane. Finally, the senior letter winner list was comprised of Jennifer Dudley, Kristin Culp, Sadie McFarland, Erika Beitz, and Bethany Smith.
