Greene County head wrestling coach Mark Sawhill told Raccoon Valley Radio he saw improvement from the first night of competition to the second, but his Rams fell to 0-4 in dual meets with losses to Winterset and Carroll High in Carroll on Thursday night. The Huskies were 57-21 winners over Greene County while the Tigers got by the Rams by a 36-31 score. Winterset beat Carroll 48-30 in the other dual meet.
The match with Carroll saw the Rams win seven of the 13 contested matches. The difference were the six points the Tigers received from lone forfeit. Carroll filled all 14 weight classes while the Rams filled 13. They were open at 132 lbs.
Greene County wrestlers going 2-0 on the night were freshman Will Hansen (126), sophomore Brock Wuebker (170), and senior Isaiah Yoder (182). Those that were 1-1 were Braden Gallagher and Garrett Tasler, both freshmen that alternated at 106 and 113, junior Cayden Gerdes (138), freshman Joel Ward (145), and freshman Marcus Rosenow (195).
Next up for the Rams is the Dallas Center-Grimes Mustangs Invitational at 10 a.m. at Grimes tomorrow.
