A meeting is coming up tomorrow to determine how some mental health services might be conducted in the region.

Greene County Supervisor Dawn Rudolph sits on the regional mental health board for Greene, Dallas, Guthrie and Audubon counties. She recently told the rest of the Greene County Supervisors that the regional mental health CEO Darci Alt was proposing to make the new regional mental health advocate a full-time employee.

“If we would enter into this 28E agreement that our CEO is proposing, then that person would become a fulltime employee. Then you start adding benefits and things like that and that’s just more cost to each county. So at this time I’m recommending to our board (of supervisors) that we just stay with the original agreement that he (the advocate) just bills for services rendered plus mileage and not become a fulltime employee of the region.”

Another proposal was to have a full time mental health employee in each county’s schools to help with mental health services.

Both are topics that are expected to be discussed at a meeting at the Guthrie County courthouse on Monday, December 19th.
