The Greene County High School wrestlers are done for 2016, while the basketball teams have one more night of competition later this week. All Greene County HS Winter sports take a break for the Holidays, then start competing again on Friday, January 6.
The wrestlers were done sooner than expected because the Dec. 17 Tiger-Knight Invitational in Carroll was called off due to weather. Seniors Isaiah Yoder (182) and Hunter Ruth (220) are leading the Rams on and off the mat. They are the only two seniors on the team.
The basketball teams are coming off a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference doubleheader split on Friday night at Nevada. The Rams won the boys’ game 51-46, and lost 50-23 in the girls’ contest. All that’s left on the December schedule for the Rams is a non-conference girl/boy doubleheader this Thursday night with Boone in the middle school gym in Jefferson. Coverage on KG98 starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m., and the boys to follow.
