There are a lot of athletes who transcend the high school level and move onto college athletics and for those skilled enough, they can make waves early on in their college careers.

That is exactly the case for former ADM track standout Karina Dufoe as she ran for the University Of South Dakota in the Summit League Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend. After a freshmen campaign last year where she put herself 7th in program history in the 60 meter dash at a time 7.78 seconds, Dufoe managed to one up herself this past weekend with a 60 meter mark of 7.69 seconds, putting her in 7th place on Saturday. Karina also made waves in the 200 meters during the weekend where she became the Coyote’s only qualifier in the 200 meter finals taking an 8th place finish with a time of 25.66 narrowly missed her personal best from last year which put her ninth in program history with a mark 25.22 seconds.

Up to this point in her sophomore campaign in the indoor track season, Dufoe has one first place finish, four second place finishes, and a total of 7 top five finishes. The next event on the docket for Karina would either be the NCAA Indoor Championships March 10th or if not then the next up for the sophomore would be a trip to Tempe Arizona in Baldy Castillo Invitational on March 17th.
