We are celebrating the St. Patrick’s Day holiday this weekend, law enforcement wants to remind everyone to drive responsibly.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety and the Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau are holding their special Traffic Enforcement Program from March 15th through the 18th, where increased law enforcement will be on the roads looking for impaired drivers. They urge everyone to have a designated driver if you consume alcohol or call a cab service if you are going out to a party.

Last year, there were zero fatalities in Iowa during the St. Patrick’s Day sTEP Wave program.
