It’s race day for the ACGC girls and boys track and field teams today as they enter into their second full week of the season in Panora this afternoon.

It may be a soggy wet day out, but the competition at Panorama high school will heat things up. The newly formed ACGC Chargers will seek to up the anty in conference play from last year under the Guthrie Center name.

Already a force this season, the ACGC girls relay teams are quite strong looking to better the results from last year where Guthrie Center ended the season 3rd or better in four team events inside the West Central Activities Conference. Also to note, with last year’s conference leader in the 200 meter dash, Keaton Kester, having transferred to ADM high school, ACGC’s Savanna Fuller now resides as the conference leader in the 200 from last year.

On the girls side the 7 team field will be comprised of Glidden-Ralston, Greene County, Iowa Christian Academy, Madrid, Ogden, Woodward Granger and host Panorama. On the boys side the field will be quite similar but will not include the Madrid boys team.

Both Charger squads will take on the Kip Janvrin Invitational in Panora this afternoon beginning at 4:30 pm.
