It was one of those nights to remember yesterday for Panorama head track and field coach Greg Thompson as his Lady Panther team took the 7 team crown while the Panther boys just missed out on first by 12 points.
There were a number of personal records set on the afternoon and on the girls side that came to the tune of 13 set personal records. For yet another meet, coach Thompson witness the Lady Panthers score in all 19 events with 11 of those events earning top three performances. Devyn Kemble would find herself back in the comforts of the 400 stealing first place by more than four seconds at 1:00.71 while Morgan Johnk put on a nice performance surrounding the Drake relays with a first place finish in the 100 meter hurdles (16.34 seconds). Lydia Knapp’s 111′-06″ in the discuss event paced the Lady Panthers in the field events while the relay events would pace the entire meet for Panorama with four relay events earning firs place finishes on the day. The Lady Panthers would take first with 166.5 points followed by ACGC with 149 points and IKM-Manning rounding out the top three with 131 points.
15 boys set new personal records to help the Panther boys surge ahead for a second place team finish with 133 points. Only ACGC preceded the Panthers with 155 points while the IKM-Manning boys would help the school monopolize third place as they took home 128.33 points. Spencer Hunt put on an applause worthy performance after being a part of two first place relay teams ( 800 sprint medley & 4 x 100) and taking first in the 200 meter dash at 23.68 seconds. Luke South put on a great day as well taking second in the 100 meter dash while snagging first in the 400 meter hurdles. Matthew Webner and Dan Jensen dominated the field events for the Panthers with Webner’s 146-08 taking first as well as Dan Jensen’s 48′-04.5″ shot put toss earning first.
